dearest familie:
greeeeetings! march has arrived in all its splendor. the crocus' have come up and the sun is shining a bit brighter. life is beautiful. also, turns out that biking is an absolute joy in the nice weather. before it was just great, now i really look forward to it. good times. this week has been very fun. it started out with an AWESOME joint teach at a members home. we had the coolest lesson with roos and a sister in our ward. SO SO SO SO GROOVY. she told us that she was praying about when to get baptized and she was reading in the book of mormon and she came to the verse about not procrastinating the day of your repentance! haha she knew exactly what she will do! so, hopefully in the coming months it will happen. she has a lot to arrange though, seeing as she lives in the pastorie of another church. we shall pray for her! she is amazing. oh i just love people. they are my faves. echt waar. so, another one of my favorite evenings this week was with a member in our ward, xiomara. she is amazing. she is a single mom going to school and working. she told us her conversion story and how much Heavenly Father blesses her everyday. she is such a strong woman and was so motivating! i am so grateful to have the blessing of meeting all these super cool people! so, on thursday we have weekly planning...and zr.jeffs was carrying down the keyboard from upstairs and she totally fell down the stairs. i FREAKED OUT. dutch stairs are lethal. i rushed over to find her at the bottom of the stairs LAUGHING. she was also freaking out and laughter was her first emotion. she was alive and nothing was broken. oh snappppp! it scared me. then i started laughing. oh man. i asked how she was and she said she was okay "it was like a slide but more uncomfortable". that was a bit of the drama this week. so, some other good times this week...whilst out and about...we found the coolest toy on a playground. it was like the tea cup ride at disney land. we had a good time but got a little too dizzy. we will definitely be returning there! in other news, we did a deep clean of our house last monday. it was a delight. i loved it. we put away the christmas tree (hallelujah!) and organized everything. its so lovely. it feels so nice. we bought a new map of amsterdam and put it on the wall. things are looking good. we had an interesting appointment with a man named john from angola. dont know if i told you about him. well, he is quite a character. turns out he is a bit to flirty, with everyone. mag niet! oh dear. we probably wont be contacting him again - we shall hand him over to the elders. it was a funny and strange night to be certain. he is too smooth for his own good. i am so glad we work in a city with elders as well. we can just swap investigators instead of dropping them. so much better. well - life is great here in a'dam. all the sisters from our zone came here today - we are emailing by the library in centraal and then we will head to diemen for our toast and tea p-day adventure. it shall be lovely! ohhhhh guess what?!?!?! i totally saw ROBBIE BROEKMAN!!!! in den haag! we went on sunday in hopes to take our investigator gina to a doop dienst unfortunately we missed the actual baptism but we stayed and mingled and it was so cool to talk to him and see his cute kids. good times indeed. well, ik moet weg! thank you for all of your love and prayers. i am so grateful to have such a fantastic family. muchhhhhhhh love! :) - zuster katelyn stout
