goedemidaag! greetings from diemen bibliotheek. what a week it has been, indeed.
life is beautiful. the weather has been FANTASTIC lately. up to 11c one day! awesome.
its amazing how much life is affected by the weather. i am grateful for the sunshine.
okay, so on monday after we emailed, we went on a bit of an adventure. in the email you asked
about boots and whatnot, seeing if i need to buy some and i said i think i will be alright without them...
well, we went to a little thriftstore and i felt like looking at the shoes...and what do you know, i found
the most perfect adorable pair of leather boots...exactly my size and totally fit perfectly! whatttttttttt up.
only 6,50 euros! hollller! that was a miracle indeed! oh wow. so awesome. then we went to a famous dutch bakery
called ""hartogs" and bought a tasty botterham...wandered about the city...took a train to haarlem...sang hymns in the park..
had doner in the train station...twas a delightsome evening to be sure. the next day, we went to leiden for a zone training.
it was great to see the old crew from the mtc and hear the motivating words of our mission president. we are having a new
shindig for our mission now...instead of a consecrated hour a day...we are having concsecrated days! which totally makes more sense and i love it dearly. we have a name of either a member, less-active, previous investigator...etc by each hour that we dont have an appointment. that way we ALWAYS have a person to visit, and if they arent there we just find in their area...so we are concentrating on a name not an area. we pray and choose names each nice. it has already proven to be a HUGE success. we already have 5 new investigators this week. so awesome. oh how i adore this grand country and the great work i am taking part in here! what a lovely lovely opportunity! so, as i flip through my planner to see what the haps are , i am seeing some quality things. i will now make a list of what this week was sponsored by.
- wijk raad (this is ward council. which was HILARIOUS. oh the dutch are so funny. we discussed the ward bidness whilst drinking tea and eating cookies.)
- ginger juice (we went to a markt and i tried some homemade ginger juice made by a surinamse vrouw and wow, it straight up burnedddd my throat.)
- talking to birds (exactly what it sounds like. i talk to the birds i see whilst we walk...they are my good friends now.)
- red red (a crazy awesome ghanain food we ate twice this week...red beans with red palm oil and red plantains.)
- harry& andre. we went to this apartment for an appointment we had with a mand named david. the man said he didnt live there...but then said let me call him...he said on the phone "harry...are you called david?" harry came over and we talked to both of them and gave them a book of mormon and set up a new appointment. turns our they dont know a david but now we have two new investigators from the one wrong address! awesome!
- angola john. we met a crazy cool man named john. he is from angola. he has the coolest english i have ever heard. we have an appointment with him tomorrow. i will keep you updated.
- amstelveen & alsmeer (we had quite an adventure getting to these places for appointments, we visited a filipino family in our ward, they are SO awesome. they made us tasty dinner and we discussed about the gospel. what a lovely evening it was.)
yes. and today is probably sponsored by cleaning. that is what we are up to in amsterdam. cleaning cleaning cleaning. i enjoy it though. the house could really use it. i don't know when it was deep cleaned last. well. that is not exciting in the least. alrighty. well. life is beautiful. thank you all for the love and joy you bring to my life. i am so grateful for you all. MUCHHHH LOVEEEEEEEEEEeee. - zuster katelyn marie stout.
